Abstract:
Four-phase remote sensing images of Kunming central area in 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2017 were selected to analyze the changes of urban construction land by using ENVI interpretation and Quadrant Analysis method. The results show that the urban spatial form is transformed in its expansion from a one-center-circular structure to a multi-center structure, and the urban space expands north-eastward to the new-airport area and south-eastward to Chenggong New District. The main factors affecting urban spatial expansion include natural geographical environment, social economy, population, policy guidance, transportation and others. The change of the landscape pattern index of construction land shows: the construction growth of the main urban area within the center of Kunming City has been achieved through the reconstruction of the old town. Although the construction scale of Chenggong and the new-airport areas has gradually formed, it has not achieved intensive development.
