Catalytic liquefaction research on microcrystalline cellulose in supercritical methanol
-
Abstract
Direct liquefaction of micro-crystalline cellulose over CuO-ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst in supercritical methanol was investigated. The effects of liquefaction temperature, liquefaction time, dosage of catalyst and filling ratio of methanol on the microcrystalline cellulose conversion were investigated. The experimental results from orthogonal matrix showed the optimum liquefaction conditions were that:reaction temperature 280℃,reaction time 90min,125% dosage of catalyst,60% filling ratio of methanol. The analysis of FT-IR and GC-MS indicated that pyrolysis and alcoholysis reaction mainly occurred in the microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose molecules had broken down to small molecule compounds and adding catalyst can promote small molecular compound to hydrodeoxygenate. The main liquefied products are C2—C7 alcohol.
