Enantioselective recognition of valine methyl ester by the chiral ion selective electrode with tetrakis(4-tert-butylphenyl)boron potassium

Abstract
In this paper,we chose tetrakis(4-tert-butylphenyl)boron potassium as a novel chiral selector to prepare an enantioselective membrane electrode for the determination of valine methyl ester. The experimental results showed that optimized membrane electrode could preferentially respond to L-valine methyl ester, and displayed linear range from 1×10-4 to 1×10-1mol·L-1 with a detection limit of 3.16×10-5mol·L-1.Nernstian response of 50.0mV was towards D-valine methyl ester, and the potentiometric enantioselectivity coefficient of the electrode lg KpotL,D was -1.82.
