Synthesis of amide imidazolium salt and its helical twisted assembly structure

  • In this paper,a novel amide imidazolium bromide I was synthesized via Ullmann reaction as key step,the structure of compound I was identified by 1H NMR,13C NMR and elemental analysis.Phase transitional behavior of compound I was investigated by polarizing optical microscopy (POM),differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).The results showed that compound I could self-assemble into helical twisted microscopic chiral stripe-like spherulitic structure,the radial length difference between adjacent spherulites was idefinite,which indicated that the layered twist was strictly uniform and regular.The molecular self-assembly model of compound I was established and the formation mechanism of helical twisted micro-chiral stripe spherulitic structure was preliminarily discussed.
