On the spatial and temporal distributions of TIL in East Asia

By using temperature profile of COSMIC occultation data during January 2007—December 2013,the spatial and temporal distributions of variety elements of TIL (the Tropopause Inversion Layer) in East Asia have been analyzed.The results show that it is a common phenomenon in East Asia that the TIL exists.The zonal structure of TIL is obvious,and the TIL between the tropical and the extra-tropical is different,while the seasonal variation of TIL is opposite in the south and north of 40°N.The strong tropopause inversion layer appears over the tropical sea,where the TIL is thin,and the TIL is thick and weak in “the tropopause breaking belt” in the mid- and high-latitude.
