Catalytic hydrolysis of HCFC-22 over MoO3-MgO/ZrO2 composite catalyst

Abstract
The MoO3-MgO/ZrO2 ternary composite catalyst was prepared by co-precipitation and supersaturation impregnation method. The performance of the catalytic hydrolysis of HCFC-22 was investigated from the service life of MoO3-MgO/ZrO2 catalyst and the effects of molar ratio of Mg and Zr, calcination temperature, calcination time and catalytic hydrolysis temperature on the hydrolysis rate of HCFC-22 were also investigated. The results showed that the hydrolysis rate of HCFC-22 could reach 98.88% at a molar ratio of Mg and Zr of 3∶10, a calcination temperature of 400 ℃, a calcination time of 3 h and a hydrolysis temperature of 350 ℃. The hydrolysis rate of HCFC-22 was maintained above 60% after 42 h of continuous reaction of MoO3-MgO/ZrO2 ternary composite catalyst. The main hydrolysis products were HF, HCl and CO2.
