Synthesis, self-assembly, photophysical and ion recognition properties of rod-shaped azobenzene ferrocene derivatives

  • Rod-shaped azobenzene ferrocene derivative Azo-Fc-m were synthesized by Click reaction as the key step. The self-assembly properties and photophysical properties of the compounds were studied by POM, DSC, SEM, UV-vis, DFT etc. These compounds can assemble into organogel in solution with three-dimensional network morphologies. The gel has reversible response to light, heat and pressure. These compounds showed a reversible photoisomerization effect and can be used as a chemical sensor towards Ag+.
