Some characrastics about seed and cutting propagation of Terstroemia gymnanthera Beddome

The fruit of T.gymnanthera is berry-like capsule,the seed is absence endosperm,and have about 3-4 months dormancy.The dormancy can be interrupted by a treatment of GA3(700mg/L) or NAA(100mg/L).The seed is red aril,The seed coat is hard and lignification,the reason of dormancy may be related to the aril and the hard seed coat.The experiments of seed germination and cutting propagation carried out for many times since 2001.Seeds have a high germination ratio.The suitable treatment for cutting of T.gymnanthera is treated by NAA(100mg/L) for 15min and medium is soil.
