  • The efficiency of 2-mercaptopyrimidine as an inhibitor for acid corrosion of zinc was investigated.The studies reveal that this inhibitor is effective for the inhibition of zinc in phosphoric acid solution.The mechanism of inhibition was proposed on the basis of the formation of a protective film by 2-mercaptopyrimidine molecules on the metal surface.
