Formal synthesis of (±)-mesembrine

Abstract

Abstract

In this article,we apply a new method for the generation of quaternary carbon centers through a palladium-catalyzed sequential arylation and allylic alkylation of highly functionalized ketones.The use of our methodology culminated in the formal total synthesis of Aizoaceae alkaloids,namely,(±)-Mesembrine in9 steps from commercial materials.
