Abstract:
Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) are prone to network congestion because of the burst data traffic,node and channel synchronization difficulties and the dynamic channel of wireless topology.The buffer occupation rate is used in traditional active queue management algorithms such as Random Early Detection (RED) to predict network congestion,however,which is not adaptive to the characteristics of MAC layer channel in MANET.In this paper,we provide some alternative new designs based on cross-layer coordination,through the link layer mac802.11 RTS/CTS retransmission mechanism,with the network of integrated cache occupied judgment and detection network congestion,to realize network congestion control and adapt to network QoS needs in MANET.Finally,we use NS2 simulator to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm IRED(Improved RED)and the simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm in the throughput,delay and transmission jitter on the effect of significantly.
