Abstract:
Based on Zhaotong Doppler radar data and regional automatic weather station data,the four hail processes happened in 2012 detected by Zhaotong radar are analyzed.The result show that two of the hail processes are belong to supercell storm,all of them appear hook echo and mesocyclone on radar echo.The other two hail processes are belonged to belt-like echo.Both mesocyclones appear earlier than hook echo.The velocity field characteristics appear earlier than the base reflectivity field characteristics for 15 to 20 min,so it is favor for the judgment of storm formation and storm short-term warning.The intensity and convective development height of the two supercell echo are higher than that of the belt-like echo,and thus the strength and size of the supercell hail damage are much greater than that of the belt-like echo hail.The two supercell storms moving direction are along the prevailing wind from 20 to 30 to the right,belong to right moving supercell storm.Environmental wind field characteristics is an important factor to determine the moving path of the supercell storm,it can be short-time forecast indication of Supercell echo hail.Low-level convergence zone and mid-altitude radial convergence (MARC) are conducive to the development and maintenance of belt-like echo.
