Abstract:
The organic layered double hydroxides (LDH-DS,LDH-UA,LDH-OA) were prepared by ion exchange reaction with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS),undecylenic acid (UA),oleic acid (OA) as the intercalating agent, respectively. And the OLDHs/EPDM composites were obtained via melt mixing. The composites were characterized by rubber process analyzer, and the mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. The results showed that the presence of carbon-carbon double bond was conducive to the OLDHs to form the radical crosslinking with substrate during the vulcanization process, the unsaturated functional groups in the end of the carbon chain of the intercalating agent especially. Therefore, the Shore A hardess, the tensile strength, elongation modulus of the OLDHs with the unsaturated functional groups/EPDM composites were more improved.
