Abstract:
In this article, the synthesis of dendritic supermolucules based on cyclotriphosphazene and their liquid-crystalline behavior were reviewed. With different mesogenic units attached, cyclotriphosphazene derivatives are able to self-assemble into 1D-,2D- even 3D-nanostructure,such as Nematic phase,Smectic phase,Colunmnar phase and three-dimensional Cubic phase. These mesogenic characters are due to the supermolucular space-filling,microphase segregation of the rigid and flexible parts as well as the effects of interface curvature.Study shows that dendritic supermolucules based on cyclotriphosphazene give typical examples on the research of non-conventional liquid-crystalline molecules, and the resulting supermolucular structures should benefit to create of novel functional materials.
