Abstract:
Twelve fruit characters of 40 wild eggplant germplasm resources were studied by multiple statistical analysis.The result of variation analysis indicated that there were abundant genetic variations among different fruit characters and different germplasm resources.The correlation analysis showed that 7 pairs of characters had extremely significant positive correlation and 7 pairs of characters had extremely significant negative correlation.Forty wild eggplant germplasm resources were classified to 5 groups by cluster analysis,and the first group was much different from the eggplant cultivars,but the third group was similar with the eggplant cultivars.These results could be a basis for the breeding of eggplant and accelerating the utilization of these wild materials.
