Abstract: Sinocyclocheilus wenshanensis sp. nov.,Holotype,No. 20160725001,standard length (SL) 106 mm,was collected from a river in Wujiazhai (23°23' N,104°05' E),Wenshan county,Yunnan,on July 25th,2016. Paratypes,No. 20160725002-005,SL 110—121 mm,were collected in the same locality as the holotype.All the specimens were kept in Reservoir of Heilongtan,Shilin,Yunnan.Description:D. iii,7;A. ii,5;P. i,13—15;V. i,7—8; Branched caudal fin rays 15—16;lateral line scales 67—72;gill rakers 7—9;pharyngeal teeth 3 rows (2.3.4/4.3.2).Depth of body in standard body length 3.26—3.83 (3.62),length of head 3.53—3.74 (3.61),length of caudal peduncle 4.42—4.91 (4.62),depth of caudal peduncle 7.56—8.84 (8.23).Snout in head 2.38—3.00 (2.62),diameter of eye 6.00—10.33 (8.07),interorbital space 2.83—3.75 (3.21).Depth of caudal peduncle in its length 1.64—2.00 (1.83).Diagnosis:The new species is distinguished from S. maculatus Li (2000) by the following characteristics:① 3 rows longitudinal black spots (vs. spots arranged irregularly).② mouth sub-inferior (vs. sub-superior).The new species is also distinguished from S. xichouensis Pan et al (2013) by the following characteristics:① 3 rows longitudinal black spots (vs. six to eight black round spots).② lateral line scales 67—72 (vs. 74—88).③ the ratio of predorsal length to standard length 55.65%—59.50% (vs. 47.10%—53.70%).
