Abstract:
The comprehensive evaluation of tomato germplasm resources is an important basis for the selection of new tomato varieties. In this study, 166 tomato germplasm resources were collected for genetic diversity analysis, correlation analysis, principal component analysis, cluster analysis and comprehensive evaluation based on phenotypic traits. The results showed that the highest genetic diversity index in the quality traits was the maturity (1.248); the highest in the quantitative traits was leaf width (2.072), and the largest coefficient of variation was single fruit weight (55.21%). Most traits showed significant or extremely significant correlation with each other. The cumulative contribution rate of the nine principal components extracted reached 71.96%. The tested materials were clustered into 6 groups at an Euclidean distance of 17.5, compared with other groups, the Group VI performed well and were excellent germplasm resources. Comprehensive evaluation of the tested tomato materials by the combination of principal component analysis and membership functions showed that number 64 had the highest comprehensive evaluation value (
D value) and the best comprehensive traits, which can be applied for production and breeding, and enrich the germplasm resources of tomatoes in Ningxia.
