Abstract:
In order to understand the changes of plant endogenous hormones in the process of flowering, the leaves of
Bashania fargesii were selected from different growth stages (vegetative growth stage, pre-flowering stage, flowering stage) in turn. The level of endogenous hormones in the leaves of
Bashania fargesii was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that the concentration of IAA was gradually increased in its growing and developing process, the concentration was lowest in vegetative growth stage and highest in flowering stage. The concentration of IAA can be used as the early warning indicator for predicting the flowering of bamboo. The concentration of GA was decreased in the pre-flowering stage, and increased again in the flowering stage, indicates that GA pathway may not be the main flowering pathway of
Bashania fargesii. However, the decrease of this hormone before flowering can still be used as an early warning indicator for predicting bamboo flowering. The change of concentration of the CTK was similar with GA in the whole process of blooming, it can be also used as early warning index to predict bamboo flowering. According to its mechanism, it is suggested that age pathway may be the main way of flowering of bamboos. The concentration of ABA did not change much in the pre-flowering stage, but increased significantly in the flowering stage. The contents of chlorophyll and nitrogen decreased from the vegetative stage to the bud initiation and development stage, and increased slightly in the flowering stage. This study can provide reference for further study on flowering mechanism of the
Bambusa fargesii, also, it has significance for the protection of the giant pandas in the Qinling Mountains.
