Abstract:
402bp fragments of mitochondrial cytochrome b gene of 4 species of Barbinae,Acrossocheilus yunnanensis,Barbodes laticeps,Sinocyclocheilus tingi and Sinocyclocheilus grahami were sequenced and the resulting data were combined with previously published of Spinibarbus denticulatus yunnanensis and Mystacoleucus lepturus to form a matrix of 6 species representing 5 genera in Barbinae. One outgroup Xenocypris yunnanensis was also drawn from published data.Molecular phylogenetic trees were reconstructed by neighbor joining, maximum parsimony and maximum likelihood methods and the results showed that the genera Spinibarbus and Acrossocheilus,Barbodes and Mystacoleucus had a relatively close relationship, respectively. But their relationships with the genus Sinocyclocheilus were unresolved. The above results were in accord with their geographical distribution.
