Abstract: Using the climatological data of 2010 and 2011 of Luodian County in Guizhou Province,the effect of meteorological factors on the main phonological period of Jatropha curcas L. were researched.The results showed that among three meteorological factors,temperature was the key factor and acted on the main phonological periods of Jatropha curcas L..A large Daily Temperature Range (DTR) could help to breaking of tree dormancy.The sap began to flow when the effective accumulative temperature (EAT) was 27—28 ℃·day,new buds appeared when EAT was 30 ℃·day,lamina spread at 35 ℃·day,new twig became long at 76-78 ℃·day,and at the same time,a small amount of inflorescence could be found.When EAT was 110 ℃·day,the floret on inflorescence came into bloom.The stem apex stop growing at about 167 ℃·day and start glowing when EAT reached 220 ℃·day.Finally,when it was 320 ℃·day,the tree began to fall leaves and then came into dormancy.Rainfall is one indispensable factor of growth and development of Jatropha curcas L..The tree grew fast during the rainy season and came into dormancy against the dry season.Too much rainfall resulted in the hours of light became fewer and the tree stopped growing by lack of synthesis of nutrients.Sunshine hour had little influence on the flower development,but more effect on the growth and development.
