Abstract:
〗Ethylene-vinylacetate/halogen-free flame retardant(HFFR) copolyester blends have been prepared by melt-blending,and its compatibility, flame resistance and phase structure have been studied by applying mechanical property test, differential scanning calorimeter test, limiting oxygen index and scanning electron microscope. The results show that the EVA/HFFR Copolyester blends are non-compatibility and single-phase continuous structure in which EVA exists as the continuous phase and HFFR Copolyester exists as the disperse phase. The melt flowability and flame resistance can be improved by adding HFFR Copolyester.Master batch dilution method, three times melt extrusion and adding 15% compatibility agent can speed EVA and HFFR Copolyester to form a certain thickness interface layer between two phases, thus the mechanical properties of the blends will be improved.
