Abstract:
A new Mn (Ⅱ) complex with a Schiff base,N,N'-bis-salicylidene-4,5-dimethyl-phenylendiamine as the ligand, has been prepared and structurally characterized by X-ray crystal diffraction and IR.Its antimicrobial activity was evaluated by AGAR diffusion method against different Candida albican strains resistant to several antibacterial drugs. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were determined by serial dilution method with a standard broth microdilution. The results indicated that Mn (Ⅱ) complex show significant activity against C.albicans 592 and C.albicans 103 and fluconazole-resistant clinical isolates C.albicans Z2901,C.albicans Z2503,C.albicans 649.Moreover,the synergistic antibacterial effect can be achieved between the Mn (Ⅱ) complex and fluconazole against C.albicans 649 and C.albicans Z2901.
