Abstract: This paper introduces the basic principle of the transient electromagnetic method (TEM) and the present study on transient electromagnetic apparatus at home and abroad by referring the work of TEM field in the past 20 years.Authors summarize the problems of transient electromagnetic apparatus in our country,put forward to the scheme of solving these problems and the direction of domestic transient electromagnetic apparatus in the future.
