Abstract:
Four phenol-degrading bacterial strains, which could use phenol as the sole carbon source for growth, were enriched, isolated and screened from wastewater samples collected from chemical plant etc.The phenol hydroxylase(LmPHs) gene-specific primers were designed, and the 641bp oligonucleotide fragments were produced by PCRamplification from three phenol-degrading strains.Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16SrRNAgene sequence of strain2N-17 showed that it belongs to the genus Pseudomonas.Compared with other methods, our methods showed the ability to characterize phenol degrading bacteria quickly, accurately and easily from the phenol polluted environments.
