Abstract:
Sugar is an essential structural component of cells and a source of energy for growth and metabolism. The ratio of different types of sugar determines the flavor and quality of the fruit. The process of fruit sugar metabolism plays a vital role in plant growth and development, which affects the storage capacity and form of sugar in the post-harvest fruits. Plant hormone is a microactive substance that is commonly found in plants, affecting and regulating the whole growth and development of fruits. The functions and mechanisms of phytohormones in the metabolism of starch , sucrose and sorbitol, the regulation of hexose metabolism during fruit development in recent years were reviewed. The proldems in the research of plant hormones regulating sugar metabolism in fruits and the ideas of further research were also expounded.
