Abstract:
Tourist attractions are the material basis for the development of tourism. Quantitative analysis of the factors affecting the development of tourist attractions is an important channel to reduce inefficient investment and costs, and promote the efficient development of tourism. Based on the GIS geographic information technology, this paper quantitatively analyses the spatial distribution characteristics and the influencing factors of Yunnan’s tourist scenic spots by means of GIS spatial analysis and mathematical statistics, based on the data (of 2017) of A-class tourist attractions in Yunnan Province. The results show that: ① The spatial distribution of tourist attractions in Yunnan Province is clustered, with low equilibrium and high degree of concentration. ② The spatial distribution density of tourist attractions in Yunnan Province generally presents the distribution characteristics of being ‘denser in the northwest and the middle than in the eastern edge’. ③Tourist attractions in Yunnan are developing actively, where there are popular scenic spots more than unpopular ones, with obvious characteristics of a gradual increase in popularity from Southwest to Northeast in spatial distribution. ④ The spatial distribution of tourist attractions in Yunnan is influenced by natural and human factors. The degree of influence from high to low is: river system > urban distribution > traffic (roads, railways) > socio-economic level (GDP) > population > topography (DEM).
