Abstract:
Spodoptera frugiperda, known as fall armyworm (FAW) is the major agricultural pest that cross-border invade China through Yunnan in recent two years, which pose a great threat to the development of China's corn planting industry. Yunnan Province is a serious disaster area of the insect pest, and also an important land route for the migration and expansion of the alien pest to the inland areas of China. To explore and reveal the occurrence and development of
S. frugiperda in Yunnan is of great significance for the prevention and control of the pest in Yunnan and even the whole country. Based on the literature analysis and previous research, this paper systematically explained the basic features of the pest occurrence, discussed the major factors affecting the formation of insect disasters, and put forward the prevention and control countermeasures of
S. frugiperda in Yunnan. This study has strong regional and clear pertinence, which provides scientific guidance for
S. frugiperda control.
