Abstract:
                                      The chemical constituents from 
Macaranga sampsonii were isolated and purified by semi-preparative high performance liquid chromatography, column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC. The structures of the compounds were elucidated by NMR spectral analysis. Thirteen compounds were isolated and identified, including diosmetin

(3)  , 5,4'-dihydroxy-3,6,7-trimethoxyflavone   
(4)  , chrysosplenol D   
(5)  , liquiritigenin   
(6)  , epicatechin   
(7)  , catechin   
(8)  , isoliquiritigenin   
(9)  , phloretin   
(10)  , phloridzin   
(11)  , trans-resveratrol-3-O-
β-D-glucopyranoside   
(12)  , magnolol   
(13)  . All these compounds were first isolated from this plant
. And compounds   
4   and   
13   showed weak anti-tumor activity.
