Abstract:
This paper constructs a video digital recognition system based on field programmable gate array(FPGA) and CMOS image sensor OV7725. The system includes an artificial photoreceptor, a digital potentiometer array related circuit and a video graphics array(VGA) display. The artificial photoreceptor composed of FPGA and CMOS image sensor OV7725 inputs the video digitally and processes the image, tests and recognizes the digit by using the digital potentiometer array related circuitry, and finally can be displayed digitally by the VGA monitor and the digital tube on the FPGA. The system uses QuartusⅡ 18.1 software platform, programmed and verified by Verilog HDL language for timing analysis. The system achieves good results by recognizing the video numbers from 0 to 9, thus realizing the FPGA-based video number recognition system.
