Abstract:
Tourism resources are the foundations for conducting tourism activities, and their evolutionary process is crucial for the development of the tourism industry. In order to explore the spatio-temporal evolution process of tourism resources on a small scale, methods such as geographic concentration index, standard deviation ellipse, kernel density analysis, and correspondence analysis were used to investigate the tourism resources in the West Lake District of Hangzhou based on two surveys conducted in 2002 and 2022. The analysis found that: ①After 20 years of development, the quantity of tourism resources has significantly increased, and the quality has notably improved, with E-class(functional buildings and modern facilities), as well as F-class(historical relics) being the most prominent.②The spatial inertia of tourism resources is evident, and the dominance of Xihu Street has not changed. At the same time, there is also a trend from uneven development to balanced development, and a multi-center cluster has begun to form. ③The spatio-temporal evolution of tourism resources is closely related to natural conditions, policy adjustments, market demand, regional development status, and significant events.
