Abstract: Land ecological planning and design is the focus of land ecology,and the study on its theory, method and practice has to be deepened.The concepts of land ecological planning,land use planning and ecological planning are differentiatedand analyzed;the innate character,essential research topics,basic principle of land ecological planning are discussed;the main methods(models)of overseas land ecological planning and design are introduced;and the main research fields of land ecological planning and design in the near future in our country are suggested,in this paper.This work is considered to be significant for promoting the study in the field of land ecological planning and design and the development of land ecology.
