对烷氧基苯甲酸N-苯基N’-烷基咪唑盐酯的合成及其液晶行为的研究

Synthesis and mesophase behavior of 4-alkoxybenzoic N-phenyl-N’-alkyl imidazolium esters

  • 摘要: 以Ullmann偶合反应为关键步骤合成了含烷氧基苯甲酸的苯基咪唑盐酯,用偏光显微镜(POM)对这类物质的液晶性能进行了研究,发现当咪唑环N上所带的烷基链(CnH2n+1)的长度在n=9~16之间时,这类化合物能呈现近晶层状A相(SmA),它们的液晶行为被分析为分子结构中柔性链与刚硬部分进行微观相分离及咪唑阳离子间的静电吸引相互作用的结果.

     

    Abstract: 4-Alkoxybenzoic N-phenyl-N’-alkyl imidazolium esters were synthesized via copper(I) catalyzed Ullmann coupling reaction as key step.The mesophase behavior of these substances were studied by polarized optical microscopy(POM).These compounds can represent Smectic A mesophases when the length of the N-alkyl chains(CnH2n+1) was controlled between n=9—16.The mesophorbic behaviors of these compounds are analyzed as the result of both the microsegragation of the flexible alkyl chains from the rigid cores and the ion-ion interaction between the imidazoliums.
