Abstract:
Based on the monthly subtropical high indexes in summer and meteorological data of flood season ( June—August ) rainfall during 1960—2006 observed by 34 meteorological stations,the correlation coefficients between them is studied.The results indicate that the correlation coefficients between the ridge,north boundary of West Pacific Subtropical High and flood season rainfall is markedly.When the West Pacific Subtropical High is located north (south) in summer,the flood season rainfall in Chongqing is less (more).Wherefore,the relationship between the anomaly latitudinal position of West Pacific Subtropical High and flood season rainfall in Chongqing is studied.It is shown that the anomaly latitudinal position of West Pacific Subtropical High goes with the anomaly change of atmospheric circulation in East Asia,which influents the flood season rainfall in China and Chongqing.
