Abstract:
This study took the six wetland parks along the shores of Dianchi Lake as the research object and used the travel cost interval analysis (TCIA) of the travel cost method (TCM) to evaluate their recreational value. The relevant data was collected through questionnaire surveys and the demand curve for tourists' willingness to travel was fitted using a cubic function. The tourist's consumer surplus was estimated, and the sum of the travel costs, opportunity cost of time, and consumer surplus obtained from statistical analysis represents the recreational value of the wetland park. The study analyzed the factors affecting tourists' willingness to pay for visiting the wetland parks and the impact of park management models on the recreational value. The results showed that from November 2018 to October 2019, the recreational value of the Liao Fishery River, Haidong, Haigen, Dongdahe, Xihua and Gudian Wetland Park was 43.49 million yuan, 47.64 million yuan, 113.88 million yuan, 7.21 million yuan, 4.54 million yuan, and 546.31 million yuan, respectively, and the total recreational value of the six wetland parks was 763 million yuan. The factors affecting tourists' willingness to pay for visiting the wetland parks were gender, education level, monthly income, satisfaction with flora and fauna, and satisfaction with service facilities. The park management model affects tourists' preferences for visiting the wetland parks and therefore affects the recreational value of the wetland parks.
